Visit to Bilorus
On July 22, Chairman of Constitutional Court of Ukraine Andrii Stryzhak and Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bilorus Petro Miklashevich signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bilorus.
The Memorandum became a legal foundation for further development of good neighborhood relations. The parties agreed among other things to conduct bilateral meetings on facilitating organisation of research activities in the sphere of constitutional justice that are of interest for both states. The Constitutional Courts of Ukraine and Bilorus also expressed their willingness to exchange legal materials and scientific publications published in their official publications within the legislative limits. However, the Memorandum is “first of all, exchange of experience and information”, as Andrii Stryzhak emphasised after the document was signed. He said that in the future, “joint sessions should be held to discuss issues related to constitutional justice that will serve as an impetus for increasing its efficiency in both states”.
Within the framework of this visit to the Republic of Bilorus, the Ukrainian delegation held several bilateral meetings and learned about the functioning of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts of Bilorus. Furthermore, the guests visited the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Bilorus and the National Library where A. Stryzhak left his signature in the Book of Honourary Guests.
