Lawyer, Doctor of Law, Polish political figure, Honorary President of the Venice Commission, professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Chair of the Constitutional Law Department.

From 1991 until 2016, she was a Member of the Venice Commission, and in 2015 became First Vice-President of the Venice Commission. Since June 2016, has been designated as an Honorary President of the Venice Commission. She was also a Member of the Parliamentary Delegation of the Republic of Poland at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Vice-Chairperson of the Assembly.

Held various positions as a Member of Parliament. Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland. Served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General. From 2001 until 2013, served as ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Holy See.

Hanna Suchocka is also a Chairperson of the group of five eminent persons to follow up on the implementation of the Declaration and Programme of Action of the 2001 World Conference against Racism (UN).

In 2017, she was a Member of the Competition Commission for the selection of candidates for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine regarding persons appointed by the President of Ukraine.

In 2023 recommended by the Venice Commission for AGE membership, appointed by Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine
