Ihor Slidenko

Former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

Judge Slidenko was born on June 14, 1973 in Severynivka, Trostianetskyi district, Vinnytsia region.

         After graduation from Odesa State University named I.I.Mechnikov in 1995 he practiced as a private lawyer.

         In 1997 – 1998 he studied at Odesa State Law Academy to obtain Master's degree on Public Administration.

In 1997 – 2001 he was a post-graduate student at the Department of Constitutional Law of Odessa National Law Academy. In 2002 he defended his thesis "Interpretation of the Constitution of Ukraine: theory and practice in the context of international experience" to obtain the degree of the Candidate of Legal Sciences.

2002–2003 – associate professor at the Department of Constitutional Law of Odesa National University named I.I.Mechnikov. From August 2003 – associate professor of the International Humanitarian University. In 2004 – 2006 – a doctoral student at Odesa National Law Academy. In 2006 – 2008 – Chair of the Department of International Law and International Relations at Odessa International Humanitarian University (Odessa). In 2008 – 2010 – associate professor at the Department of Constitutional, Administrative and International Law of Mariupol State University.

2006 – 2007 – intern at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst.

From 2010 – senior consultant of the Department of Theory and Practice of Law-Making Activity of the Legislation Institute of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

In 2011 he defended his thesis "Constitutional control in the mechanism of modern state" to obtain the degree of the Doctor of Legal Sciences (12.00.02 – constitutional law, municipal law).

         In March 2014 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He took the oath of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on March 13, 2014.

         Author of a number of monographs, textbooks and publications on the theory of law, state management law, EU law, comparative law, constitutional law, theory of constitution.

According to the Resolution of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine of December 7, 2022 No.8-пс/2022 he was dismissed from the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and resigned.
