Volodymyr Kampo was born in 1948 in Mukacheve, Zakarpatskyi region, in a worker’s family. He began to work as a sales officer in 1965. In 1967 he entered the Law Faculty of Lviv Ivan Franko State University. 1972 – 1975 – post-graduate student of Lviv Ivan Franko State University and Moscow Lomonosov State University. 1975 – 1992 – assistant, associate professor, Chairman of the Department of the Law Faculty of Lviv Ivan Franko State University. 1992 – 1995 – First Deputy Head of the collegium on legal policy of State Duma of Ukraine, assistant, Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legal Policy and Judicial Reform. 1996 – 2006 – Chairman of legal disciplines departments at Kyiv State Institute of Culture, Ukrainian Centre of Legal Studies under Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University and the Academy of Municipal Administration. In November 2005 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine. He swore the oath on August 4, 2006. Awarded with Order of Merit, 3rd class. Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor. Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine. Specialist on constitutional, administrative, municipal and entrepreneurial law. Volodymyr Kampo is the author of over 450 publications, including 6 monographs (chapters thereof as well as written in co-authorship), more than 20 scientific textbooks and brochures; compiler of several collected volumes of scientific works. He was also involved in drafting the Constitution of Ukraine (1992 – 1993) and about 50 draft–laws. Member of the Editorial Boards of the "Bulletin of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine", "Donetsk University Law Journal" and "Legal Studies". Volodymyr Kampo’s authorities of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were terminated on September 17, 2013.
