On March 1, 2024, the Advisory Group of Experts received the statements of 2 candidates for the position of judge of the CCU about the termination of their participation in the competitive selection process.

Serhii Martiev and Oleksandr Prokopenko decided to stop their own participation in the competitive selection process for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the stage of assessing their compliance with the criterion of high moral qualities, and submitted an appropriate statements to the AGE.

Thus, taking into account the candidates’ statements and being guided by the part 9 of Article 7 of the Methodology for assessing moral qualities and the level of competence in the field of law, the Advisory Group of Experts completed the review, verification, and analysis of the candidates` documents available to it at that time and terminated the candidates` participation in the competitive selection process.

Serhii Martiev is a judge of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court, and he was admitted to the competitive selection both by the Parliament of Ukraine and Council of Judges of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Prokopenko is a judge of the Supreme Court, and he was admitted to the competitive selection by the Council of Judges of Ukraine.

Given this self withdrawal, as of March 1, 2024, 33 persons are applying for 5 vacant positions of the CCU judges.
