On Thursday, February 8, 2024, the Advisory Group of Experts held a meeting at which it was considered two issues on the agenda – considered the application of a deputy member of the AGE about the early termination of his powers and announced the period of dates for conducting interviews with candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

AGE Secretary Yaroslav Romaniuk said that AGE has received the application of the AGE deputy member Ihor Protsiuk on the early termination of his powers.

Yaroslav Romaniuk also explained that based on the analogy of the law, in particular part 15 of Article 10-2 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine", the AGE at its meeting can consider the issue of early termination of the powers of both a member and a deputy member of the Advisory Group of Experts.

Thus, the Advisory Group of Experts considered and unanimously approved the application of the AGE deputy member Ihor Protsiuk for the early termination of his powers.

Ihor Protsiuk thanked his colleagues for their common work and wished the all AGE team strength and perseverance.

In turn, the AGE Chairman, Ales Zalar, on behalf of the all AGE team, thanked Ihor Protsiuk for his fruitful work and wished him and all Kharkiv residents strength, endurance and safety.

Yaroslav Romaniuk also thanked Ihor Valeriyovych Protsiuk for the common fruitful work and noted:

"The powers of the AGE deputy member Ihor Protsiuk are terminated early on the day of the adoption of the relevant decision, that means – today.

At the same time, I draw your attention to the fact that the Advisory Group of Experts must inform the appointing body of this deputy – in this case, the President of Ukraine, about early termination of his powers no later than three days from the day of early termination of his powers".

The second issue on the agenda was the discussion and announcement of the period of dates for conducting interviews with candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

In this context, the AGE Chairman Ales Zalar reminded that the process analysis of materials regarding the candidates for the position of judge of the CCU is ongoing:

"Now the Advisory Group is conducting an integrity assessment, and based on the results of the interviews, there will be determined a list of candidates admitted to the next stage – assessing the level of competency. Therefore, there is an objective and logical reason to announce the dates of interviews to ensure maximum transparency of the competition and awareness of all interested parties and the public, which follows the competition to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine".

So, the AGE Chairman announced that interviews with candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine will take place from March 2 to March 8, 2024, inclusive.

"The AGE will inform all 37 candidates in advance about the exact time and place of the interview with each certain candidate", – Ales Zalar said.

At the same time, he emphasized, all interviews will be broadcast live and everyone will be able to watch them online on the resources of the AGE and CCU.

Also, the AGE Chairman once again called on the public to follow the work of the Advisory Group of Experts and, with their attention and participation, be involved in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.

NB! The Law of Ukraine "On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine" stipulates that the AGE must conduct public interviews with candidates within four months from the date of receiving of all documents regarding the candidates from the appointing bodies.
