One year ago, on November 12, the first meeting of the Advisory Group of Experts took place.
During this time, the Advisory Group of Experts held about 100 working and official meetings, consultations and discussions within the framework of 6 competitive selections announced according to quotas of each subject of the appointment of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine – Parliament of Ukraine, the Congress of Judges of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine.
From these three subjects of the appointment of judges of the CCU, the Advisory Group of Experts received almost 10,000 pages of materials regarding 109 candidates for the positions of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, who participated and continue to participate in competitive selection.
Also the Advisory Group of Experts conducted 45 interviews (approximately 50 hours) with candidates, sent hundreds of requests about them and received and processed numerous volumes of responses.
Based on the results of the study and analysis of candidate documents and information received from various sources, the Advisory Group of Experts prepared thousands of pages of decisions, analytical reports and other working materials.
“The 12 protocols fixed the results of 12 official meetings and a whole year of systematic work of the Advisory Group of Experts, which later transformed into the appointment of 2 new judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
But the main achievement of AGE can be considered that it was worked out and successfully implemented the mechanism of absolutely transparent and competitive selection, which is trusted by Ukrainians and international partners of Ukraine.
AGE always makes and will continue to make selection of candidates based upon objective criteria, prescribed by the Law and AGE Methodology, and upon independent and impartial assessment of candidates’ merits.
We thank the Ukrainian society and the professional community for their trust, governmental authorities and civil society for cooperation, and international partners for their full support of the AGE.
Despite the difficult trials of a brutal war, Ukraine stands steadfastly on the path of reforms and changes for the better future, and it is an honor for us to be a part of this process", – AGE Chairman Ales Zalar summed up the year of activity.
