Competition under the President's quota: A Portrait of Candidates for the position of judge of the CCU

The Advisory Group of Experts continues the collection and analysis of materials regarding candidates admitted to the competition for the 1 vacant position of judge of the CCU under the quota of the President of Ukraine.

The AGE processed the data on the candidates and made a short portrait of them.

So, among 10 persons – 5 women and 5 men, who applies for 1 vacant position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine according to the President's quota.

Of these 10 persons – 5 are PhD., 2 are doctors of science, and 3 candidates without a scientific degree.

The average age of candidates for the position of judge of the CCU is 53 years, the youngest candidate is 44, and the oldest one is 65 years old.

According to the main profile of activity among the candidates the absolute majority are teachers/scientists – 5 persons, and this is 50% of all candidates.

There are also 3 lawyers, 1 advocate and 1 judge.

We would like to remind that materials for all these candidates were received by the AGE on May 6, 2024.

In accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Constitutional Court of Ukraine", the Advisory Group of Experts has four months to collect and analyze materials regarding the candidates.

Within this period, the AGE must also hold public interviews to assess candidates' compliance with the criterion of high moral qualities.
