 VOLODYMYR MOISYK 

 Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

 

Judge Moisyk was born on August 18, 1957 in Stetseva, Sniatynskyi district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

He started his labour activity in 1974 as a concrete master at Kolomyia construction directorate.

In 1983 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and was elected a people’s judge of Zaliznychnyi district people’s court of Kyiv.

1990 – 1995 – judge, member of Presidium, Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City Court.

1995 – 2002 – judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. He has the highest qualification rank of a judge.

In March 2002 he was elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine in the single-seat Kolomyia-Sniatyn electoral district.

2002 – 2006 – Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activities.

2006 – 2012 – People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Head of Sub-Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedural Legislation of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activities.

September 2006 – June 2007 – Head of the Interim Investigation Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on investigation of circumstances and causes of death of the journalist Heorhii Honhadze and clarification of the causes of delay in the criminal case investigation.

2008 – 2010 – advisor to the President of Ukraine (external).

From April 2005 – Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the President of Ukraine on pardoning, from June 2009 - Chairman of this Commission.

2008 – 2010 – member of the National Constitutional Council.

In January 2016 he was appointed judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine. He took the oath of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on January 27, 2016.

Candidate of Legal Sciences. Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine. Judge of the highest qualification class.

Decorated with the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Orders "For Merit", 2nd and 3rd classes.

Author of about 30 research works, including a monograph on "Criminal liability for financial fraud in Ukraine".
