Viacheslav Ovcharenko

 

Viacheslav Ovcharenko was born in 1957 in Yenakiyeve, Donetsk region.

After finishing secondary school he served a regular term in the army.

He worked as the Head of the telegraph division of Yenakiyeve city communication centre, a secondary school defense chief, a locksmith.

In 1979 he finished Poltava Vatutin Higher Air Defense Command School.

1983-1984 – legal consultant at Yenakiyeve auto-repair plant and at “Ordzhonikidzevuhillia” production union.

In 1987 he graduated from Kharkiv Dzerzhynskyi Law Institute.

June 1987 – December 1987 – trainee at Donetsk regional Bar Association.

1987 – 1992 – lawyer at Donetsk Regional Bar Association, Judge of Yenakiyeve city court.

1996 – 2001 - Kirovskyi inter-district deputy prosecutor in Yenakiyeve.

October 2001 – December 2002 – judge of Yenakiyeve city court.

From December 2002 – Chairman of Yenakiyeve city court.

In August 2006 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He swore the oath on August 4, 2006.

On July 18, 2013 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine he was elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Decorated with Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Doctor of State Administration. Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine.

According to the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine № 775-VII dated February 24, 2014 Mr. Ovcharenko’s authorities were early terminated and he was dismissed from office of the Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
