Serhiy RIZNYK Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
Serhiy Riznyk was born on November 27, 1980 in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. In 2003, he obtained higher legal education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2008, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences in the speciality “Constitutional Law; Municipal Law” on the topic “Ensuring the Constitutional Human and Citizen’s Right to Entrepreneurial Activity by the State”. In March 2021, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor in Law (Constitutional Law; Municipal Law) on the topic “Constitutionality of Normative Acts. Essence, Evaluation Methodology and Ensuring System in Ukraine”. Since 2009, he has been an assistant, and since 2010 – an Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In February 2015, he obtained scientific degree Associate Professor. Since January 2016 – Deputy Head of the Department of Constitutional Law. Since August 2016 – Secretary of the Academic Council of the Law Faculty. Since April 2017 – Deputy Dean of the School of Law for Academic Affairs and International Cooperation. From June 2021 to May 2024 – Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Since April 2019 – Deputy Chairman of the Scientific and Advisory Council of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. Since December 2021, he has been a member of the Scientific and Advisory Council to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. On May 23, 2024, he was appointed as a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He took the oath of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on May 28, 2024. Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Chief co-editor of the scientific journal “Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law”.
