Serhii SAS
Former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

 

Judge Sas was born on August 7, 1957 in Yermolayivka, Daurskii district, Krasnoiarsk region.

          He began his career as a labourer at Kapitanivsk sugar plant in Novomyrhorod district, Kirovohrad region.

          In 1980 he graduated with distinction from Lviv Zoo Veterinary Institute. After serving compulsory military service in 1980 – 1982, he worked as a doctor of veterinary medicine.
 
       1985 – 1987 – Deputy Head of the Management Board of “Zhovten” special farm, from 1987 to 1996 – Head of “Mriia” collective agricultural enterprise in Novomyrhorod district, Kirovohrad region.
 
In 1996 he graduated from Yaroslav the Wise National Law University.
 
      1994 to 2014 – People’s Deputy of Ukraine. 1994 – 1988 – Head of the Sub-Committee of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Economic Policy and Management of National Economy, 1998 – 2002 – Deputy Head of the Committee the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Rules of Procedure, Deputy Ethics and Support to Activities of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2002 – 2012 – First Deputy Head of this Committee, from 2012 till March 2014 – member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Legislative Support to Law Enforcement Activities. During 2006 – 2014 – Deputy Head of "Batkivshchyna" faction at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In 2005 – Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

In March 2014 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He took the oath of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on March 13, 2014.
 
Candidate of Legal Sciences (constitutional law).
 
         According to the Resolution of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine of December 7, 2022 No.8-пс/2022 he was dismissed from the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and resigned.
