Pavlo Tkachuk

 

Pavlo Tkachuk  was born in 1949 in Pavolochka, Dzerzhynskyi district, Zhytomyr region.

He graduated from the Law Faculty of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko State University in 1976 and the Higher Party School in 1990.

He began to work as a locksmith, then he worked as investigation officer intern at Moscow district prosecutor’s office in Kyiv, assistant to a prosecutor at Kyiv transport prosecutor’s office.

1979 – 1989 – service in the Party’s bodies.

1989 – 1992 – lecturing on State and Law at the Higher Party School, and at Kyiv Institute of Political Science and Social Management.

1992 – 1994 – Head of the “Metsenat” company’s representative office in the Slovak Republic, 1994 – Director of the “Basan” company.

1994 – 1997 – First Secretary at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Georgia.

Until 2002 – assistant to a People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

In July 2002 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He swore the oath on September 10, 2002.

On December 22, 2010 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Decorated with the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Order of Merit, 3rd  class.

Candidate of Legal Sciences.

Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine.

Author of a number of scientific works on constitutional law and state administration.

Pavlo Tkachuk's authorities of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were terminated on September 22, 2011.
