Mykola Savenko

 

Mykola Savenko was born in 1944 in Pervomayske, Saratov region, in a peasant's family.

In 1963 he graduated from Luhansk technical college. He worked as a fitter at Luhansk factory, then served compulsory military service.

He graduated from Kharkiv Law Institute (at present Yaroslav Mudry National Law Academy of Ukraine) in 1972.

He began his professional career as an intern at Novotroyitsk People’s district court in Kherson region. In 1972 he was elected People's Judge of Kalanchak People’s district court in Kherson region.

From 1983 he served as a Member of Kherson regional court.

From 1988 - judge, then Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Collegium on civil cases of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

In September 1996 at the Third (extraordinary) Congress of Judges of Ukraine he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine.

Author of about 20 scientific works on constitutional law, protection of human and citizen’s rights and freedoms.

He has the higher qualification rank of a judge.

Mykola Savenko’s authorities were terminated on October 19, 2005.
