Liudmyla Chubar was born in 1944 in Zhdanov (at present Mariupol), Donetsk region in a worker’s family. In 1970 she graduated from the Kharkiv Law Institute (at present Yaroslav Mudry National Law Academy of Ukraine). She started to work in 1961 at Zhovtnevyi district court in Mariupol as a secretary of the court session, officer of justice. In 1970 she was elected a people’s judge of this court. From 1979 she was Deputy Head of the Justice Directorate of Donetsk Regional Executive Committee. In 1986 she was appointed the Chairman of Donetsk regional court. In 1980 – 1991 she was elected deputy at Donetsk city and oblast Councils of people’s deputies. In September 1996 at the Third (extraordinary) Congress of Judges of Ukraine she was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. She participated in drafting the Constitution of Ukraine, Laws of Ukraine “On Status of Judges”, “On the Judiciary”, Civil Code of Ukraine. Distinguished Lawyer of Ukraine. Liudmyla Chubar’s authorities of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were terminated on October 19, 2005.
