Visit of the Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Ihor Slidenko to the Arab Republic of Egypt
On October 18-22, 2019 Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Ihor Slidenko participated in an international seminar on the occasion of 50th anniversary of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt, held in Cairo (Arab Republic of Egypt).
The event was held under the auspices of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of the Arab Republic of Egypt Saeed Mari Amr, Deputy President of the Supreme Court of the Arab Republic of Egypt Adel Omar Sherif, Minister of Finance and Religious Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mohamed Mokhtar Goma, Minister of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mohamed Hossam Abdel-Rahim addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
Representatives from more than 48 countries, including Albania, Angola, Bahrain, Belarus, Yemen, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Kuwait, Libya, Ecuador, Switzerland, Gambia, Georgia, Hungary, India, Iraq, Jordan, Madagascar, Mauritania, Macedonia, Mongolia, Palestine, Romania, Spain, Sudan, Tajikistan, Thailand, representatives of the diplomatic corps, scholars took part in the event.
President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of the Arab Republic of Egypt Saeed Mari Amr addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and wished the participants success and fruitful work in the framework of this seminar.
The programme of the forum included three working sessions on judicial issues, during which the issues of improving the legal theory and practice of adjudication, effective interaction of the constitutional and supreme courts in modern conditions, ways of overcoming corruption in the judicial system, development of a court code and improvement of judicial training programmes, effective provision of information and communication technologies for citizens' access to easy and transparent justice were discussed.
Ihor Slidenko presented a report for the participants on "Constitutional complaint in Ukraine: first problems and possible solutions".
