Sessions of the Grand Chamber of the Court and the Boards of Judges took place

 

On Tuesday, April 13, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the plenary session proceeded with consideration of the case upon the constitutional petition of 59 People’s Deputies of Ukraine concerning the compliance of the Law of Ukraine “On State Financial Guarantees of Medical Care” with the Constitution of Ukraine. Its consideration will be continued at one of the next plenary sessions.

The in-camera part of the plenary session of the Grand Chamber of the Court also considered the case upon the constitutional petition of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights concerning the constitutionality of the provisions of Article 7.1.2 of the Law of Ukraine “On Collection and Accounting of Single Contribution to Compulsory State Social Insurance”. As a result of its consideration, the ruling on termination of constitutional proceedings in this case was adopted.

In addition, at the session the Grand Chamber considered the issue of determining the form of constitutional proceedings in the case upon a constitutional petition of 49 People's Deputies of Ukraine concerning the compliance of the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “On the formation and liquidation of districts” with the Constitution of Ukraine. Consideration of this issue will be continued at one of the next sessions of the Grand Chamber of the Court.

Based on the results of consideration of the issue of extending the term for the Second Board of Judges of the First Senate of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to adopt rulings on initiating or refusing to initiate constitutional proceedings upon constitutional complaints, the rulings were adopted on extending the term of consideration of cases upon the constitutional complaints of V.Samotei, S. Klopkov, A. Mashchenko.

The session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine also considered the issue of approving the text of the annual information report of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for 2020. Consideration of this issue will be continued at one of the sessions of the Court.

On the same day, the Third Board of Judges of the First Senate of the Court held a session on initiating constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Limited Liability Company Financial Company Tandem-Finance (TANDEN-FINANCE, FC:LLC) regarding the constitutionality of Article 9.2.3 of the Law of Ukraine “On the use of registrars of settlement transactions in the field of trade, catering and services.” As a result of consideration of this issue, the ruling of the Board of Judges on the refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in this case (final) was adopted.
