Participants discussed the reform of the judiciary and the constitutional amendments. "The main task of the reform of the judiciary is to ensure the rule of law and strengthening the independent court", stressed the President of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine underlined that Ukraine is interested in the development of a long-term, strategic cooperation, including in the area of constitutional law, with countries which representatives attended the meeting. "Your experience and support are essential for us. Solid position of political authorities of all Baltic States is a factor that ensures unity of the EU and solidarity with Ukraine ", added Petro Poroshenko.

In their turn, participants of the meeting assured of their readiness to assist, provide expert consultations and share experience in the spheres of successful implementation of reforms in their countries. They also mentioned that they closely monitored the situation in Donbas and Crimea.

"Constitutional courts do not stay aside. This year, we initiated the so-called Batumi process to condemn the actions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, which could have stopped the annexation of Crimea, but hadn't done that. We decided not to remain silent", noted the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania Dainius Žalimas.

"The act of aggression and gross violation of the international law shouldn't be left without attention, at least of the judicial community", added the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Tănase. According to him, lawyers from other countries also support the Memorandum of condemnation of actions of the Russian Constitutional Court.
