Plenary Sessions of the Grand Chamber and the Second Senate of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were held

On Tuesday, 23 February 2021, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at its plenary session considered the case upon the constitutional petition of 51 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on conformity of the Law of Ukraine „On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” to the Constitution of Ukraine. Its consideration will be continued at one of the next  plenary sessions.

The Grand Chamber considered the case upon the constitutional petition of 142 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on official interpretation of specific provisions of paragraph four of the Preamble of the Constitution of Ukraine. The consideration of this case will be continued at one of next plenary sessions.

The Grand Chamber also considered the case upon the constitutional petition of 47 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on conformity of the provisions of Article 6.4 of the Law of Ukraine „On Wages“ of 24 March 1995 No. 108/95-ВР in the wording of the Law of Ukraine „On Introducing Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine“ of 6 December 2016 No. 1774-VIII, Article 96.6 of the Code of Laws on Labour of Ukraine in the wording of the Law of Ukraine „On Introducing Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine “ of 6 December 2016 No. 1774-VIII to the Constitution of Ukraine. Its consideration will be continued at one of the next plenary sessions.

Today, the plenary session of the Second Senate of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine was held. The Senate considered the case upon the constitutional complaint of citizen of Ukraine Oleksandr Diachenko (and other citizens of Ukraine) on conformity of sub-clause 13 of clause 4 of Section І of the Law of Ukraine „On Introducing Amendments and Declaring as Such that Lost their Effect of Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine“ of 28 December 2014 No76-VIII to the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality). Its consideration will be continued at one of the next plenary sessions.
