On Tuesday, October 19, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine proceeded with deliberation of the cases in the in-camera parts of the plenary sessions:
- upon the constitutional petition of 59 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of the Law of Ukraine “On State Financial Guarantees of Medical Care” with the Constitution of Ukraine;
- upon the constitutional petition of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights on compliance of Article 90, paragraph 2.1 of Section XI “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service” of December 10, 2015 No. 889-VIII, Article 21.7 of the Law of Ukraine “On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies” with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality);
- upon the constitutional petition of 50 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine (concerning the immunity of People's Deputies of Ukraine)” with the Constitution of Ukraine.
The Court will proceed with deliberation of these cases at one of the further plenary sessions.
At the session of the Grand Chamber, 17 rulings were adopted to extend the term of adopting rulings by the boards of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on initiating or refusing to initiate constitutional proceedings in the cases upon constitutional complaints of I.Rizdvanetska, O.Abramovych, V.Sydorenko, P.Aleksenko, M.Otroshchenko, Primary trade union organization of the All-Ukrainian trade union of workers of science, production and finance of PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”, Yu.Haltsov, O.Bobyr, O.Losiev, O.Soshka, V.Vitenko, Yu.Poliovyi, V.Tsapenko, S.Redchenko, Limited Liability Company ˮGALANTOSˮ, V.Ivanov, H.Arakelian.
The deadline has been extended to November 19.
On the same day, the Second Board of Judges of the Second Senate held sessions and ruled to initiate constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional petition of 49 People's Deputies of Ukraine regarding the compliance of the Decrees of the President of Ukraine “On removal of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine from office” of December 29, 2020 No. 607/2020, “On removal of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine from office” of February 26, 2021 No. 79/2021, “On Some Issues of Ensuring the National Security of Ukraine” of March 27, 2021 No.124/2021 with the Constitution of Ukraine.
