On Tuesday, November 23, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the in-camera part of the plenary session proceeded with deliberation of the case upon the constitutional petition of 45 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of the provisions of part one, paragraph 1 of part three of Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine “On State Bureau of Investigation” with the Constitution of Ukraine. The deliberation of the case will be proceeded at one of the next plenary sessions.
The plenary session of the Grand Chamber deliberated the issue of merging constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaints of Aliona Zabara, Gagik Martirosian on the compliance of the provisions of Article 14².1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with the Constitution of Ukraine, Nadiia Kopylova on the compliance of Article 14².1, Article 279¹.5 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with the Constitution of Ukraine and in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Serhii Trutniev on compliance of the provisions of Article 14².1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with the Constitution of Ukraine in one constitutional proceeding. As a result of deliberation, it was ruled to merge the constitutional proceedings in these cases.
The Grand Chamber considered the issue of determining the form of constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional petition of the Supreme Court on the constitutionality of subparagraph 13 of paragraph 23-1 of Section III “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice” of December 21, 2016 No. 1798-VIII, subparagraphs 1, 6, 11 of paragraph 4 of Section II “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Procedure for the Election (Appointment) of Members of the High Council of Justice and the Activities of Disciplinary Inspectors of the Higher Council of Justice” of July 14, 2021 No. 1635-IX. Deliberation of the issue will be proceeded at one of the next sessions.
