Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine delivered presentations at a training seminar for judges of local and appellate courts

Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oksana Hryshchuk and Petro Filiuk spoke at a training seminar for judges of local and appellate courts on “Building Trust in the Court: Visions of Judicial Ethics”, where they shared their professional vision of the key principles of judicial ethics, the rule of law and judicial independence.

The event, organised by the Lviv Regional Branch of the National School of Judges of Ukraine in cooperation with the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine, took place on 19 May 2025 in Lutsk.

In her presentation on “Principles of the Rule of Law in the Legal Positions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine”, Judge Oksana Hryshchuk focused on the importance of the rule of law as a fundamental guideline for the judiciary. She examined in detail how the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine form approaches to the interpretation of this principle, as well as its impact on the national legal system. The judge emphasised the responsibility of judges in maintaining legal stability and protecting the constitutional foundations of the state.

Petro Filiuk, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, delivered a presentation “Independence and authority of the judiciary through the prism of modern ethical standards”, in which he revealed the main challenges facing the judiciary in the context of transforming public expectations. He emphasised the importance of adherence to high ethical standards in the professional activities of judges.

The seminar became a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of practical experience and formation of a common understanding of the ethical principles of judicial activity.
