Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii BAULIN was elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

 

On March 18, 2014 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in accordance with Article 148 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine" the elections of a new Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were held.

 

In compliance with the results of secret voting Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii BAULIN, who had been acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine before, was elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

 

In pursuance with Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine" the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine shall be elected from among the Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for a single three-year term by secret voting with any number of candidates nominated by Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and elected shall be deemed a candidate who received more than a half of votes of the constitutional composition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
