Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Viktor Kychun Took the Oath

         

Viktor Kychun was appointed to the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine upon the quota of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 18 February 2021.

A judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine steps in his or her office as of the date of taking the oath at the special plenary sitting of the Court.

On February 24, a solemn ceremony of taking the oath by the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Viktor Kychun was held at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court Valentyna Danishevska, Permanent Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Olha Sovhyria, Representative of the President of Ukraine at the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Fedir Venislavskyi, Head of the High Council of Justice Andrii Ovsiienko, mass media and other citizens of Ukraine were present at the solemn ceremony of taking the oath.

Viktor Kychun took the oath of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and signed the text of the oath.

The Chairperson of the session Serhiy Holovaty handed over the judge’s gown, badge and identity card of the judge. On behalf of the judges and himself, the Deputy Chairman of the Court congratulated Viktor Kychun on acquiring the authority of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and wished success in this office.

“On behalf of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine I congratulate Viktor Kychun on stepping in the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. I wish you to hold with dignity the title of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, which obliges the judge to be the guardian of the Constitution of Ukraine, protect the constitutional order and human and civil rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine”, noted Serhiy Holovaty.

 

 

Viktor KYCHUN

 

Born on 19 June 1968 in the village Velyka Berezna, Polonskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region.

In 1987 he graduated Vinnytsia Politechnic Сollege (majoring in „Heat Technical Equipment of Industrial Enterprises“).

1987 -1989 – regular term in the army.

In 1994 he got a degree in law in the Ukrainian State Legal Academy (currently – Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy).

1994–1997 – post-graduate student, from 1997 till 2021 – assistant, Associate Professor of the Chair of Constitutional Law of Ukraine at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy.

In December 2001, he defended his thesis to obtain a scientific degree of a Candidate of Legal Sciences („Constitutional and Legal Basis of Relationships of Supreme Bodies of Power of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea“).
