Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Tupytskyi was elected Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

 

On March 15, 2018 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Tupytskyi was elected Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

According to Article 34.2 of the Law on Ukraine “On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine”, the Deputy Chairman of the Court shall be elected upon the proposal of the Chairman of the Court for a single three-year term by secret ballot using ballot papers. According to clause 13 of § 17 of the Rules of Procedure of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, elected to the office of the Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine shall be deemed a candidate who received the votes of no less than ten Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Tupytskyi was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine in May 2013. He swore the oath of a judge of Constitutional Court of Ukraine on May 15, 2013.

In 1988 he graduated from Kharkiv Law Institute named after F.E. Dzerzhynskyi (Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University).

In 1993 – judge of Kuibyshev district court in Donetsk, from 2002 – Chairman of this court.

Further, he worked as judge of the Donetsk, Lviv, Dnipro economic and appeal courts. He was the Chairman of the Lviv economic courts of appeal and then the Dnipro economic courts of appeal.

In 2006, he studied in the USA ("Open World" Programme).

Candidate of Sciences on Public Administration.

Author of publications on public mechanisms of the improvement of quality of judges' training, commercial law, constitutional justice issues.
