IX Summer School of the Rule of Law and Constitutionalism started
The Summer School "Rule of Law and Constitutionalism: the Constitutional System and Its Anti-Crisis Tools" was organized for graduate students and students of higher legal educational institutions in the framework of cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.
This is the ninth school of constitutional law and constitutionalism, which annually gathers a young generation of constitutionalists from different parts of our country.
This year, the school brought together more than thirty participants from all over Ukraine, who will be offered an intensive program to gain skills in analyzing, interpreting and understanding the constitutional provisions, ideas and concepts that underlie them. This program is focused primarily on deepening the professional training of lawyers in the field of constitutional law and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Leading Ukrainian constitutional scholars, judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the Supreme Court are the trainers of the school.
Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Lemak traditionally delivered a speech to lawyers, giving a lecture on “How to protect the Constitution of Ukraine from current politics? (secrets of the "creative kitchen" of the constitutional justice)".
It is planned that school participants will consider a number of topical issues of constitutional law, including the protection of the constitution, constitutional interpretation, the functioning of the institute of constitutional complaint, as well as reforming the constitutional justice as a tool to ensure the unity of judicial practice.
The event will last from August 2 to 9 in Svaliava (Poliana village).
