Information on consideration of cases by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
On February 25, 2021, at a session of the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court, a Ruling was adopted on extending the term of the adoption of the ruling by the First Board of Judges of the First Senate of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on initiating or refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings upon a constitutional complaint.
Also today, the Second Board of Judges of the Second Senate of the Court had a session.
Thus, as a result of consideration of issues concerning the initiating of constitutional proceedings in cases: upon the constitutional complaint of Alla Ostroushchenko on the constitutionality of the provisions of Article 424.4 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and upon the constitutional complaint of Serhiy Paliy on the compliance of the provisions of the second sentence of paragraph 6 of item 16.b of section I of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (concerning justice)" of June 2, 2016 №1401-VIII, paragraph 2 of item 20 of section XII "Final and transitional provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges" of June 2, 2016 №1402 – VIII with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality), Rulings on refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in these cases were adopted.
