The Constitutional Court of Ukraine has not adopted decisions on land reform cases

A number of mass media spread information about possible declaring the land reform in Ukraine as unconstitutional.
In view of the above, we inform you that there are constitutional proceedings pending the Court upon the constitutional petition of 48 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality) of the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on the conditions of circulation of agricultural lands" and certain provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine, as well as the constitutional petition of 53 People's Deputies of Ukraine on the compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality) of the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on the conditions of circulation of agricultural lands" of March 31, 2020. These cases were merged into one constitutional proceedings by the Resolution of the Court’s Grand Chamber.
Consideration of this case at the plenary session of the Court in the form of oral proceedings was scheduled for September 29, 2020, but due to the submission of the Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to adjourn the consideration of the case in view of his inability to participate personally, its consideration was postponed.
On Monday, November 2, in the in-camera part of the plenary session, the Court considered the case upon the constitutional petition of 46 People's Deputies of Ukraine concerning the official interpretation of the first sentence of Article 13.1, and Article 14.1 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
The Court's decision in this case was not adopted. Its consideration will continue at one of the next plenary sessions of the Court.
Given this, we appeal to certain politicians, public activists and the media to provide reliable and verified data in order to convey only truthful information to the public. The date and time of consideration of the above mentioned cases will be published on the official website of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
