The Constitutional Court of Ukraine considered the case concerning the compliance of specific provisions of the Laws of Ukraine “On Alternative Energy Sources” and “On the Electricity Market” with the Basic Law of the State

On December 17, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the public part of the plenary session in the form of written proceedings considered the case upon the constitutional petition of 47 People’s Deputies of Ukraine concerning the compliance of the provisions of paragraphs 1-4 of parts 2, 3, 6-9, 20-22, 26, 28-33 of Article 9-1, Article 9-2 of the Law of Ukraine “On Alternative Energy Sources” of February 20, 2003 No. 555–IV as amended (hereinafter referred to as Law No.555), parts 2, 4, clause 3 of part 9 of Article 65 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Electricity Market“ of April 13, 2017 No. 2019–VIII (hereinafter referred to as Law No. 2019) with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality).

During the court hearing, Judge-Rapporteur in the case Oleksandr Kasminin informed on the content of the constitutional petition and the grounds for initiating constitutional proceedings.

The Constitutional Court of Ukraine concluded consideration of the case at the public part of the plenary session and proceeded to the in-camera part for a decision.
