On Thursday, 9 October 2025, Acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Petryshyn and Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Vodiannikov held a meeting with the Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the honouring of obligations and commitments by Ukraine, Mr Damien Cottier and Ms Saara-Sofia Sirén, and Deputy Head of the PACE Monitoring Department Mr Bastian Gerard Klein.
The meeting was also attended by the People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksii Honcharenko and Head of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ms Hanna Rozhkova.
The meeting took place within the framework of the visit of the PACE Monitoring Committee representatives to Ukraine. The parties discussed the protection of fundamental rights of citizens in Ukraine and the functioning of the body of constitutional jurisdiction under martial law.
Particular attention was paid to the functioning of the constitutional complaint mechanism, improvement of national constitutional justice, and cooperation of the Court with international partners, which enables the enrichment of national jurisprudence with European approaches.
The parties expressed their gratitude for the constructive dialogue and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation.
