Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin met with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania JuozasBernatonis

 

 

 On February 17, 2016 Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin met with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Bernatonis.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine welcomed guests and expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of relations between Ukraine and Lithuania. He noted that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine is now at the important stage of development and fulfills its role in this process.

Yurii Baulin informed about amendments to be made to the Constitution of Ukraine. He also touched upon the implementation of the constitutional reform in Ukraine, especially the reform in the system of justice, including the powers of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

 "We are following the situation in Ukraine and support your course", noted Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania JuozasBernatonis. He informed about the reforms of the judicial system to be carried out in the Republic of Lithuania and said that all reforms should be implemented evolutionary.

At the end of the meeting Juozas Bernatonis left a record in the book of honored guests of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. The Lithuanian guests thanked for informative meeting and warm welcome and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Minister Plenipotentiary of Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Gvidas Kerusauskas, Director   of the International Law Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania Darius Zilys, Team Leader of the EU Project "Support to reforms in the justice sector in Ukraine" Virgilijus Valancius, Head of the Secretariat of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yaroslav Vasylkevych, and the Court’s staff.
