Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine H.E. Niniek Kun Naryatie Siswojo
On July 10, 2015 Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulinmet with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesiato Ukraine, accredited for Georgia and the Republic of Armenia H.E. Niniek KunNaryatie Siswojo.
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine noted friendly and fruitful cooperation between the constitutional courts of Ukraine and the Republic ofIndonesia, launched back in 2005.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and herself, H.E. Niniek KunNaryatie Siswojo expressed gratitude for the assistance of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine provided in the formation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. The Ambassador dwelt upon the creation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, which had been established together with all the reforms, when the country entered a new stage of its development, i.e. decentralisation of power. The Ambassador pointed out thatIndonesia could be called the champion of decentralisation of power among other countries.
Yurii Baulin noted that Ukraine is at the stage of amending the Constitution; the Constitutional Commission has elaborated the proposals for such amendments as well as for the improvements of the Constitutional Court’s functioning.
In conclusion, the parties thanked each other for a meaningful meeting, and agreed on acomprehensive exchange of experience, which would improve the judicial system of both countries.
