During the working visit of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to Germany upon the invitation of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), on November 28-29, a number of professional meetings were held with the management and leading researchers of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law . The mentioned Institute is part of the Max Planck Society and is a world-renowned organization that carries out fundamental scientific research in the field of comparative public law and international law.
The executive director of the Institute, professor Dr. Armin von Bogdandi, addressed the participants of the meeting with welcoming words and presented a report on "Transformative Constitutionalism". Acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Serhiy Holovaty, made a profound introduction to the topic "Interpretation of the Constitution in the context of international law".
Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Vasyl Lemak delivered a report on the topic ""Defensive democracy" under martial law: the first lessons of Ukraine".
The judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Petryshyn spoke on the topic "The problem of abstract official interpretation in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine".
Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleh Pervomaiskyi presented a report on the topic "Issues of postponing the expiration of acts declared as unconstitutional".
At the end of the two-day event, the German partners expressed their support and assured of their readiness for further deepening of cooperation and implementation of already planned joint activities.
