Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Poland

 

Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Rzepliński on May 2 – 3, 2013 Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin and Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Petro Stetsiuk took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Poland, held in Warsaw.

The Ukrainian constitutionalists and the Lithuanian delegation headed by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania Romualdas Kęstutis Urbaitis were invited to the official ceremony of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Poland with the participation of the President of the Republic of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski.

Within the framework of the celebrations Yurii Baulin and Petro Stesiuk took part in the solemn session at the Constitutional Tribunal.

On behalf of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin congratulated the President and judges of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland and all the participants on the Polish national holiday. Deputy Chairman admitted in his speech that the relations between the constitutionalists of Ukraine and Poland, initiated in 1998, had recently become more vigorous and fruitful. In 2012 V Ukrainian-Polish Conference of constitutionalists took place in Kyiv. Mr. Baulin noted that Memorandum on Co-operation between the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland, signed in September 2012, had promoted strengthening the traditions of good-neighbouring partnership.

In his turn, Petro Stetsiuk presented a report “The First Constitution of Poland of 1791: the Ukrainian View”.

During the visit Yurii Baulin and Petro Stesiuk held working meetings with their foreign partners, discussing topical issues of further co-operation between bodies of constitutional jurisdiction of Ukraine, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania.
