The Constitutional Court of Ukraine held a presentation of Volume IV of the Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia “Constitutional Law”

On September 11, 2024, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine held a presentation of  Volume IV of the Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia - “Constitutional Law”. The event was held in a mixed format online and offline.

The Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia is a 20-volume edition of the Pravo Publishing House, each volume of which is devoted to a particular section of jurisprudence. Volume IV is the first systematised compilation of modern knowledge on the constitutional law of Ukraine, which contains key notions, concepts and doctrines of constitutional law embodied as the basis of the national legal system.

The event was attended by judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oksana Hryshchuk, Viktor Kolisnyk, Viktor Kychun, Vasyl Lemak, Oleksandr Petryshyn, Serhiy Riznyk, Olha Sovhyria, Galyna Yurovska, Head of the Court's Secretariat Viktor Beschastnyy, Court staff, representatives of leading law schools of Ukraine, and students of Ukrainian higher education establishments.

Volume IV “Constitutional Law” was presented by Yurii Barabash, Chairman of the Editorial Board of this publication, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Strategic Development of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zhuravel, President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Full Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Oleksandr Skrypniuk, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Full Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Oleksandr Batanov, Leading Researcher of the Department of Constitutional Law and Local Self-Government of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

They emphasised that for eight years they had been working hard to draw up this publication on constitutional law as the basis of national law.

The author team of the presented volume consists of more than 60 scholars. Representatives of all the leading law schools of Ukraine, as well as scholars who work as judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, and hold responsible positions in other government agencies, were involved in the preparation of the publication.

Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine who worked personally on the publication, namely: Oksana Hryshchuk, Viktor Kolisnyk, Viktor Kychun, Vasyl Lemak, and Olha Sovhyria shared their experience of working on the encyclopedia. They pointed out the importance of this publication for the development of scientific research in the field of constitutional law and its practical significance for all those interested in current issues of constitutional law.

According to them, this publication is an irreplaceable tool for law enforcement and helps to better understand the deep legal processes taking place in the state.
