On Tuesday, February 15, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the in-camera part of the plenary session continued to deliberate the following cases:
- upon the constitutional complaint of Ihor Samsin regarding the constitutionality of the provisions of the second sentence of Article 54.1 of the Law of Ukraine „On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges“;
- upon the constitutional petition of 56 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of certain provisions of the Law of Ukraine „On Complete General Secondary Education“ with the Constitution of Ukraine.
Further consideration of these cases will take place at forthcoming Grand Chamber’s plenary session.
The same day, the First and the Second Boards of Judges of the First Senate, at its sessions, considered the issue on initiating constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaints.
Particularly, in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Illia Volzhanin regarding the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Tax Code of Ukraine, the First Board of Judges adopted the Ruling on refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings (final).
At its next session, the First Board of Judges of the First Senate will continue the consideration of the issue on initiating the constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Iryna Tkachova on the constitutionality of the provisions of subparagraph 2 of paragraph 1, tenth line of subparagraph 41 of paragraph 21 of Chapter I, paragraph 6, first line of paragraph 7, subparagraph 1 of paragraph 19 of Chapter II of „Final and Transitional Provisions“ of the Law of Ukraine „On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning Priority Measures for the Reform of the Prosecutor’s Office“.
In the case upon the constitutional complaint of Viacheslav Pleskach regarding the constitutionality of the provisions of paragraphs 7, 8 of Article 383.4 of the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine, the Third Board of Judges adopted the Ruling on refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings (final).
