Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Natalia Shaptala took part in the Black Sea Regional Conference
On June 28 – 30, 2013 upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia George Papuashvili Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Natalia Shaptala took part in the Black Sea Regional Conference “Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Reviewing Constitutionality of the Constitutional Norms”.
The conference was attended by the delegations of bodies of the constitutional jurisdiction from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Germany, Romania, Turkey, representatives of the Venice Commission, scholars, experts on the constitutional and international law, representatives of the educational establishments and human rights’ organisations.
During the conference Ms. Natalia Shaptala made a presentation on the topic: “The Review of the Constitutional Norms in Ukraine: Valuable Achievements and the Methods of Improvement”. In particular, the Judge stressed on some main aspects and problems, which significantly influenced the constitutional processes both in Ukraine and in all 
democratic states.
Judge Shaptala participated in the discussion of the presentations on application of the principles of the legal state in the consolidation of the constitutional democracy, forms and peculiarities of the review of the constitutional norms in the jurisprudence of the bodies of constitutional jurisdiction of specific states, application of the international law as an instrument of overcoming collisions of the constitutional norms, as well as practical issues in the sphere of the constitutional law of European and the Black Sea region states.
In the framework of the visit Ms. Shaptala visited the Constitutional Court of Georgia, the House of Justice in Batumi, discussed a number of issues on further scientific and practical co-operation with foreign colleagues.
Moreover, Judge Shaptala put the flowers to the monument of famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Tbilisi.
