Visit of the Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
to the Republic of Hungary
On November 23 – 24, 2009 the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine headed by Chairman A.Stryzhak paid a visit to Budapest to take part in the scientific conference “Politics and law in constitutional justice: from the political questions’ doctrine to judicial politics” and solemn events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Hungary.
The representatives of more than 20 bodies of the constitutional jurisdiction from all over the world arrived to the Hungarian capital in order to take part in these events. Within the framework of the discussion at plenary sessions of the conference the participants had an opportunity to share their views and discuss the perspective of the urgent issues of the constitutional jurisdiction and current trends of its development. In particular, the constitutionalists discussed such issues as the development of constitutional adjudication in Europe, the role of constitutional courts in fighting political forces, the interrelations between the European Court of Justice and the national constitutional courts etc.
On the occasion of the anniversary celebration Mr. Stryzhak on behalf of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine congratulated the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Hungary Mr. Peter Paczolay and emphasized the important role of the Court in guaranteeing the supremacy of the Fundamental Law of the Republic of Hungary and stability of the democratic society. The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine wished his colleagues welfare and inspiration in their responsible activities for the benefit and prosperity of the Hungarian people.
